Membership

Become a member of the ARA:

The primary objective of the ARA is to be as accessible as possible for all residents and property owners of greater Amahlathi area, this include, ratepayers, non-rate payers, farmers, businesses and property owners that is not resident to the area.  The key of joining is adding your voice to an institution to create a united front in holding the South African Government accountable to execute their legislative mandates and ensuring all the constitutional rights of businesses, residents and property owners are protected, while tax payers receive value for money service delivery.  We want to encourage business owners in the Amahlathi area to encourage their employees joining the ARA and offer to collecting membership fees from their salaries or even contribute toward these fees.

The single strongest reason why any person whos income is linked to the Amahlathi economy wants to join the ARA, is to support an organisation that seeks to ensure the Amahlathi economy remains protected and that not one job is lost due to the municipalities or government are failing to do their duties. 

Cost of becoming a Member:

A once of joining fee of R100 is charged to defray the original setup cost of the ARA, with an initial annual fee of R240 payable upfront.  The membership fee will be determined annually at the ARA Annual General Meeting, and will be based on a budget tabled and approved at the same meeting. 

Benefits of being a Member:

As a paid up member, the ARA will notify you of al news relevant to the town via WhatsApp, and possible other media over time.  You will enjoy a legal support service from the ARA in the event you have a dispute with any local authority operational in the Amahlathi area, either a municipality or even a government department.  Your voice will be added to a collective voice holding both local and national governments responsible for their actions or lack thereof.  You will be given a right to be either nominated for- or vote for a board members at the AGM. 

How to become a member:

The easiest way is to contact one of the current board members or area co-ordinators and have them sign you up.  It will be expected that you deposit the money either via cash or EFT into the ARA bank account.

Your reference number for all payments is your ID number or ARA member number.
